CR129

CR129 6 years, 10 months ago on Sheriff issued summons for DUI

I too wonder why he wasn't Jailed. Common practice to cite and release???? I would like one example of this in the last two years other than a minor being released to a parent. Mr. Wall seems a little old to be released to a parent. I'm quite sure that this officer seeing who they had, had back up and another set of eyes to confirm what they were seeing, I'd put my money on if he was stopped in town that the SO, PD, and CSP all had more than one officer there. That is alot of eyes to either confirm or deny Wall's story.

Unless they are going to now start summons and releasing everyone who gets a DUI I'd say he got special treatment.

They are most certainly going to have to be extra vigilant with this case or everyone will be claiming the "Gary Wall" defense. Refuse everything and expect someone to call you a ride home..... You can always claim tomorrow you only refused because you were innocent and they didn't have to right to ask? It will be interesting to see how this works out.

CR129 7 years ago on Jail deputy appealing termination

I agree that they should give Mitch a chance to clear his name. From what I have heard this guy is only guilty of wearing his SO shirt off duty. The female in question has taken her statement back. But she got out of the ticket for driving without headlights and maybe kept the officer from looking at HER a little closer to see if she had been drinking? She might have been a little alarmed at a man approaching her at a closed gas station but, ruin a mans career come on! Mitch has done nothing but cooperate with authorities. I certainly hope he can clear his name so he can go on to continue his career. GOOD LUCK MITCH! I'm rooting for ya!

CR129 7 years, 2 months ago on Jack Horner: Cyclists beware

Well, it looks like a young woman was hit today on CR129. Many of us just knew it was a matter of time before something like this happened. It just makes me sick that such a young life was affected (I didn't hear any word on her condition). My heart goes out to her family. I hope that this brings this issue to a head and some resolutions are found. CR129 is a dangerous enough place for us to drive any more with all the cars and trucks. It is no place for a bike. It's easy to see with the beauty of the Elk River why you would want to bike up this road. Maybe a bike path along this and other roads in the county would be far less expensive than someone's life. I have no idea how serious the accident was, I'm just praying she was not killed. Please, for everyone's sake it is time to stop stating what is wrong with the situation and start finding solutions.
Growing up CR129 was a dirt road with little traffic. Now it has an amazing amount of traffic non stop all year. I would be interested in seeing numbers on how much traffic is on this road compared to what it was designed for.

****Just to really get you all going the current rate at the Routt County Jail is $42.00 per day so that is $84.00 for the both of them. Multiply that by 240 days and you get $20,160 dollar!

I think with Mr. St. James at the helm they would have been better off getting high, stealing a car, and ramming into Sweet Pea and THEN taking the fruit from the trash. Then they would have had some bargaining room..... I'm just so proud of the feller for convicting these obvious braizen criminals. I just wonder how this incredibly dedicated man managed to let so many obviously guilty people go? I.E. remember Deputy Weiss and the 17 y.o. high schooler he had sex with while he was her mentor? There was a landslide of documentation, witnesses, and proof of seriously gross misconduct. However, St. James failed to press charges. I hope he wakes up today reads the paper and see how absolutely stupid he looks!
