Nothing can be done short of gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands and spending money in order to show an effort.

The only lesson to be learned is to be aware of the visionaries that will come in the future and try similar stunts including the Iron Horse and AH. There will never be an end to stupid mistakes but we need to nip many in the bud as possible.
