Organizers of the downtown Steamboat Springs cattle drive say they need $3,000 to cover insurance premiums. Do you plan to donate to help revive the event this year?
Give it up, Steamboat is nothing more that a tourist town. The "Western" heritage is just that, long gone. The Chamber and the developers have done every thing possible to transfer this town from a "Western" sleepy town to now what it is: Silverthorne North and Estes Park West.
I agree that Steamboat is a tourist town but last numbers I saw said there are more cattle, sheep, and horses in Routt county than year round residents. I doubt that can be said about whatever county Silverthorne and Estes Park are in. Might be more elk than residents in Estes Park's county?
