It is unlikely that they could develop given they have to upgrade so much infrastructure to do so, how long it would take to absorb these lots and how expensive they would need to be to make any money. This group has never planned to do anything beyond entitle the land as was clearly outlined in their prospectus and now that it is such a marginal endeavor they along with the city and it's residents are all left to scratch their heads.

For a little perspective it is not the current council that put together the West of Steamboay Plan, complained that no developer would step forward then welcomed the promising team from Las Vegas. That was Ken Brenner, Towny Anderson and the rest of the far from pro-development team who saw a need for affordable housing. The current council is only trying to make sense of what they were handed and we are fortunate that they are an intelligent group with the brainpower to work through these issues.

I wish them the best in figuring out a way for this to make sense for the City, our community and the developer because at this point that is a very elusive goal.
