A park in the middle of a busy intersection with the Rio Margarita's, Tap House brews and OTP so close... NOT SO SMART!
I miss having a convenience store close to work and home, bring back the Go Fer Space Station.
Let's create a heated covered space for mass transit with a viewing area for ski jumping and fireworks on the upper deck and a ski museum on the first. You can even reveal the creek and still make room for buses to come through. Then let the chamber advertise and have them and other merchants pay the upkeep. The Forest service could make presentations. Now I'm know I'm just a dreamer describing a Welcome Center with bike racks, available water and public restrooms, and a safe dry place to catch the bus. But hey, the Romans built aqueducts, the Chinese their Wall, and Egyptians erected pyramids. All without parking lots.
i good idea would be to have a convenience store downtown. when i lived downtown several years ago, i would go to go-fer to buy all kinds of little things that i didn't want to go all the way to safeway or city market for.
A well designed park would be great. It is pretty much useless as anything other than a gas station since there is no room for a parking garage below it. Butcherknife creek flows under it which would be a great amenity for the park and precludes building the parking that would be required of any new development.
