I would not say that the buildings are any bigger but they do definatly take away from the allure of downtown
Yep, they are definitely bigger than I would have expected, but I did not get involved in the approval process. I should not be surprised that they don't fit with the rest of downtown. They were, after all, approved by the city council incumbents who attempted to get re-elected as the "not in the pockets of the developers" council. Good riddance to them all! Its going to be hard to even maintain the false appearance of a real western town now.
Why has one of the new buildings been allowed to stick out 3 feet further than the rest of the old town facade ?
Yes, they were approved by the last city council, but surprise, also approved by two of the new council while they were on planning commission. Please stop the complaining while admitting you didn't take the time to be involved. My prediction is in four years someone else will have the same complaints as you, saying the same things about the current council. You all get what you vote for and the current council will be an equal disappointment. Get involved!!
