A Honda Ridgeline rests on a guardrail in the eastbound lane of U.S. Highway 40 just outside of Milner on Monday morning. The driver was headed east when the vehicle drifted into the oncoming traffic lane and was sideswiped by a Ford F150 driven by Randall Ford. Ford said he attempted to avoid the collision by driving in the other lane, but caught the side of the Ridgeline with the side of his vehicle and the trailer he was pulling. The driver of the Honda was transported to Yampa Valley Medical Center and released. There were no other injuries. The state patrol still is investigating the accident, and would not release the name of the driver of the Honda at this point in time. Photo by John F. Russell

Look for the variable stars Mira and Algol together in the eastern sky around 11 p.m. in mid-September. While you're in the area, see if you can spot the nearby Pleiades star cluster and Andromeda Galaxy, both visible to the naked eye on a clear, dark night. Jimmy Westlake/courtesy
