Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called at about 5 p.m. Monday to a report of a rollover crash on Routt County Road 27 about 1 mile west of Oak Creek. This is a picture of Riley Thompson, who is 25 years old. He was a graduate of Steamboat Springs High School in 2006. He is currently a Marine stationed at Camp Pendleton in California. This was his first hunt, and he shot this five-point bull on his third day out, Oct. 7 at about 10 a.m. He was hunting with his dad, Danny Thompson, and friend in the Rocky Peak Drainage area, which is a public area. He used a 30.06 and was about 130 feet out.
