The typical Steamboat resident probably is oblivious to Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area, even though it is independently owned and operated by a Steamboat family. Bob Maddox and his late wife, Cindy Maddox, along with investors in Wyoming and Steamboat Springs, purchased the ski area in 2010.
