Hunter Gansmann, a 2012 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School with a nursing assistant certification from Colorado Mountain College is on her way to Antigua, Guatemala, for two weeks this month to volunteer in medical clinics. She is traveling with the nonprofit International Volunteer HQ Guatemala Medial volunteer program. Gansmann, who lived in South America for weeks at a time as a child, is nearly fluent in Spanish. A passenger in a car driving along Mount Werner Circle opens the passenger side door of the car and positions herself to grab that once-in-a-lifetime shot of a moose walking through the nearby vegetation. It's a dangerous situation according to officials with Colorado Parks and Wildlife who warn that the animals are incredibly dangerous. People should give the animals plenty of room and avoid aggravating them whenever possible.
