A small memorial was set up Wednesday just west of the Steamboat Springs Community Center on Lincoln Avenue, where a 60-year-old German man was killed Tuesday after a Jeep Liberty drove into his lane and hit his motorcycle head-on. The man was identified Wednesday as Fels Bernhard. The driver of the Jeep Liberty told police he was suffering from a medical condition, which caused him to drift into oncoming traffic. Bernhard was visiting the United States with four friends on a motorcycle tour. Routt County Coroner Rob Ryg said Bernhard worked at a bank in Germany. Photo by John F. Russell
