Members of the Steamboat Springs Chix with Stix women’s hockey team celebrate after a game last month. The team improved its record to 4-3 after it beat the Breckenridge Blizzard, 5-4, on Friday. The Chix were down 4-3 late in the third period before getting shorthanded goals from Jen Travis and Diane Dwire to get the win. Steamboat took an early 2-1 lead in the first period thanks to goals from Sarah Fox and Sue Heineke. Shannon Forbes made it 3-1 early in the third before Breckenridge scored three straight goals to take the lead. Chix goaltender Nikki Knoebel stopped 20 of the 24 shots she faced.
