Steamboat Springs tennis player Tatum Burger hits a winner Saturday during the USTA Intermountain 14-and-younger Sweetheart Tournament. Burger and partner Margot Shea, of Montana, won their doubles match, 8-5. The tournament brings in the top 32 boys and girls from Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana. It's the first time the Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs has hosted the event after lobbying for it for the past five years. Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club skier Sophia Schwartz, middle, won her second NorAm freestyle moguls event Saturday at APEX Mountain Resort in British Columbia, Canada. Colorado state Sen. Ellen Roberts said while she wouldn’t necessarily oppose Williams and Salazar’s plan, she also wants to examine other options for addressing racial and ethnic inequalities in Colorado.
