Pete Heuer approaches from the sixth-hole fairway at Yampa Valley Golf Course on Sunday. Heuer was playing in the Yampa Cup, a competition between the men's clubs from the Steamboat Golf Club and YVGC. In a match-play format similar to the Ryder Cup, golfers played at Steamboat Golf Club on Saturday and finished with the round Sunday at YVGC. The golfers from Steamboat won the competition for the first time in six years, according to Craig men's club president Randy Knoche. On the 12 points available Saturday, Steamboat took a 9.5 to 2.5 lead. On a more evenly contested Sunday in Craig, the Steamboat golfers' lead was too much to overcome.
