Routt County in photos: Oct. 10, 2012

Photo detail

Tara Stroman paints over graffiti on her campaign sign supporting President Barack Obama on Wednesday afternoon on Lupine Drive. Campaign sign vandalism has been bipartisan in Routt County this election cycle. This week, there have been reports of Obama signs and signs supporting Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney being stolen or vandalized. “I hope people are open to all viewpoints,” Stroman said as she repainted one of her three vandalized Obama campaign signs. “They should do positive things for their candidates, not steal or deface signs.” Jack Taylor, a former Republican state senator, said he’s heard from Routt County residents who have had their political signs taken or drawn on this election cycle, but he said it hasn’t been done to the extent it was during the last presidential race. “It’s private property,” he said about the signs. “And when you mess with them, it’s not a good thing.”
