The light is changing constantly, Hanna explained. In this photo, much of the actual falls is in shadows, but sunlight breaks through to highlight serveral areas. Finding the right exposure to bring out both the dark and bright sections of a photograph can make capturing Fish Creek Falls difficult.

The biggest key to getting a good photograph of Fish Creek Falls is patience, Rod Hanna explained. Wait for the right light. Any of a thousand factors could be in the mix there, from time of the year to the time of the day.
