Routt County Environmental Health specialist Jason Striker changes out the filter of an air quality monitor Thursday on top of the Routt County Courthouse in downtown Steamboat Springs. County commissioners are planning to add sensors on the roof and in western Routt County capable of detecting oil and gas emissions.

To establish a baseline of air quality, Routt County Environmental Health Director Mike Zopf and county commissioners are looking to install ozone-detecting air monitors in western Routt and downtown Steamboat.
