Tremaine and Ball said it's been tough getting their company, Cogma, off the ground. Consistently frustrated by the process of sending design sketches off to pattern makers only to have to make a bunch of corrections, they began doing more of the work themselves. For Ball, that mean learning to sew. Photo by Joel Reichenberger

Steamboat Springs’ Karen Tremaine was one of the United States’ best cyclists for more than a decade. She took up singlespeed racing after she retired from the World Cup circuit and now, despite enjoying another big season in that realm, she has her eye on the next phase of cycling. She and husband Clint Ball are tackling the cycling clothing industry. They’re producing clothing for women riders, including dresses and tops, like the one Tremaine wears.
