Linda Laughlin, executive director of the nonprofit Steamboat Springs Center for Visual Arts, works on a sign Friday that details the gallery’s reopening in a new space at 837 Lincoln Ave. Currently located at 906 Lincoln Ave., the Center for Visual Arts is a 3-year-old collaborative gallery that aims to foster the visual arts community through providing a space for local artists and through outreach and mentoring programs. Laughlin and a team of builders will be renovating the new space by adding and taking down dividing walls, laying carpet and building a small kitchen and customer service space. The grand opening will be at First Friday Artwalk on July 6. In addition, artist workshops with MB Warner will begin July 2 along with a new program called First Monday Critiques, which is open to all artists. Photo by John F. Russell
