A swather sits idle at Carpenter Ranch in Hayden. The ranch now is a nature preserve managed by the Nature Conservancy. The ranch will be one of three stops state officials make Tuesday as part of a tour of the Yampa Valley to assess impacts of drought conditions on agriculture, the environment, municipalities and tourism.
