Sue Petrillo sent her husband, Bill, to search for the Yule Log at the Tread of Pioneers Museum on Thursday after reading the ninth clue. He found it under the back porch. Bill Petrillo said Alan Selch, who found the Yule Log last year, was just minutes behind him. This is the third time the Petrillos successfully have found the Yule Log. The hunt is a more than 30-year Steamboat Springs tradition that involves as many as 10 clues leading to the 50-pound log that is hidden somewhere in the city. The competition is organized by the museum. As a prize, the Petrillos will receive a $150 Steamboat Springs Chamber Resort Association gift certificate and a framed plaque. Photo by Matt Stensland
