March 2010 First Friday Artwalk
First Friday Artwalk is a free monthly event showcasing local talent in the visual arts in downtown Steamboat Springs. This is a small selection of images featured in March.
This new work on paper by local artist Susan Hover Oehme is included in a show presented by K. Saari Gallery at Prudential Steamboat Realty in The Olympian. First Friday Artwalk receptions for this and other shows start at 5 p.m. today.
"Good Morning" is one of the more abstract pieces featured in Carol Jean's "An Artist's Journey." The show is at the Depot Art Center through March 28.
"Fresh Air Painting" by Carol Jean. A collection of Jean's work opens with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Depot Art Center.
Maggie Smith used five to seven layers of ink for the monoprints she has featured in "Prelude to Spring" at Artists' Gallery of Steamboat.
Leslie Bell is one of three local artists featured in "Prelude to Spring," a show celebrating the seasons at Artists' Gallery of Steamboat. The display is one of almost 30 featured on this month's First Friday Artwalk.
Bonnie McGee chose high-altitude, remote locations for the landscapes she has on display at Artists' Gallery of Steamboat this month. A reception for "Prelude to Spring" is from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
In addition to the lifestyle and ski photography he does for Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp., Larry Pierce enjoys capturing images on personal travels. This image of dolphins breaking a wave is among his favorites.
Work by photographer Larry Pierce will be on display from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Steamboat Ski & Sport at Howelsen Place as part of First Friday Artwalk.
