Avalanche instructor Cody Perry estimates the crown of this naturally occurring North Routt avalanche at about 5 feet and the vertical drop that it ran at about 700 feet. The image was made Sunday and Perry suspects the slide broke and ran sometime in an avalanche cycle that began Jan. 17.
