U.S. Highway 40 was closed for nearly two hours because of a rollover crash Tuesday afternoon. It occurred on the east side of Rabbit Ears Pass about a mile south of U.S. 40 and Colorado Highway 14. A pickup was towing a camping trailer, and attached to that was a flatbed trailer carrying all-terrain vehicles. According to the Colorado State Patrol, the configuration of the trailers and pickup contributed to the crash. The rear trailer started to whip back and forth and caused the pickup to go off the road. The man and woman inside the pickup were not hurt. CSP issued a ticket for driving an unsafe vehicle.
