An elk spent the day laying in the snow behind a home on Alpenglow Way on Thursday. Steamboat Springs Animal Control and Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers were called to the scene after the animals were being chased by dogs in the morning. By the late afternoon, the elk were resting in a stand of trees.
