The two-day storm that rolled in Wednesday left 14 inches of snow at Steamboat Ski Area. The mountain also began snowmaking operations Friday morning.

Volunteer snow groomer Dave Miller received a surprise when he arrived Friday morning at Bruce’s Trail on Rabbit Ears Pass: a foot of fresh snow. Also Friday morning, Steamboat Ski Area began snowmaking operations for the season.
