Jessie Wallace tries to get a shot off as Hannah Samlowski defends Sunday at the Steamboat Chumash Challenge, a 3-on-3 lacrosse tournament that plays with a variation of a regular game's rules. The most obvious change after the three-person teams is a one-foot-wide goal set in the middle of the field. One team scores into one side and the other team into the other. Organizer Betsy Frick said the first-year event drew about 75 boys and girls, all the way up to high schoolers, including one team from Summit High School. She said the game was such a hit she's going to explore a winter league and that the tournament definitely will return next year.
