Steamboat Springs sophomore Brandon Yeager and Soroco's Cody Constine grapple for position Thursday in a 182-pound match at the Routt County Triangular wrestling meet at Soroco High School. The pair fought one of the best matches of the night, 9-8, Yeager only logging the go-ahead point with a takedown with 10 seconds remaining in the third period.

Lodgepole pine trees killed by the pine beetle are removed in May from Steamboat Ski Area. Of Routt County’s 1 million acres of forest, a survey showed that an additional 13,000 acres of forest were impacted by the pine beetle in 2011.

Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighter Brian Shively shakes Edwin Rodriguez’s hand during the Fireman’s Ball on Saturday at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort. Shively helped save Edwin’s life in June after the 14-month-old fell into Butcherknife Creek.

”The Wind is Blowing Down My Street” is a short film about an Iranian girl who finds herself on a Tehran street without a headscarf. The film is one of nine made by women that will screen at 7 p.m. Friday at Library Hall at Bud Werner Memorial Library as part of the annual Lunafest film festival.

Most people in Yampa realize that the Crossan’s M&A Market building, which was built in 1903, has seen better days. Despite the efforts of the Friends of Crossan’s, a group of Yampa locals who are working on restoring the Crossan’s building, the site was placed on Colorado’s Endangered Places list by Colorado Preservation Inc. With the designation, Crossan’s Market will receive more exposure. Specifically, Colorado Preservation will help with grant writing.
