Participants in the second annual Ride 4 Yellow mountain bike ride gather before the start of the 26-mile challenge Aug. 7. The proceeds from the 2011 Ride 4 Yellow and Ski 4 Yellow events will be split between local cancer causes and the Livestrong Foundation.

The 2011 Ride 4 Yellow and Ski 4 Yellow events in Steamboat Springs netted about $175,000 in proceeds, event founder Dave Nagel said Tuesday.
