Alan Capistron comes within inches of sinking a putt on the No. 9 hole at Haymaker Golf Course on Wednesday. Steamboat Springs High School took second among 12 varsity teams.

Steamboat golf places 2nd at Haymaker tournament
Alan Capistron shot one of the best tournament rounds of his career Wednesday at Haymaker Golf Course to win the individual title and help his Sailors to a second-place team finish. Capistron finished the day with a 1-over par 73 to lead the field at the Steamboat Invitational. He topped Battle Mountain’s Mike Jones by a single stroke.
