An adult mountain lion sits in a tree in this Colorado Division of Wildlife photo. Mountain lion sightings are rare in the Steamboat Springs area, but Area Wildlife Manager Jim Haskins says that doesn't mean that the lions are not uncommon in this area. Haskins said mountain lions normally avoid people.
