Sixth graders Joe Borgerding, and Ross Stuart look to see what they pulled out of a nearby pond during a afternoon at the Yampa Valley Science School. The boys took the sample back to a temporary lab set up at the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts camp where they got a closer look. The Yampa Valley Science School is hosting science camps for middle school children this month.

6th-graders go to Perry-Mansfield for science lessons
Since 2001, three groups of sixth-graders from Routt County schools have spent a week at the Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp. The camp starts on a Monday and the students stay overnight at Perry-Mansfield from Tuesday to Thursday. On Friday, they take part in a community service project.
