Volunteer Kathy Hockett helps Nocona Hockett, who was participating in a creative writing exercise Monday morning at Yampatika's Environmental Learning Center. The exercise was part of three activities the students took part in during the field trip, which promoted environmental education.

Hayden 4th- and 5th-graders spend morning in Steamboat at Yampatika
Hayden Valley Elementary School fourth-grader Gabrielle Lewis spent part of her Monday morning writing a story while sitting in a tree. She was part of a group of fourth- and fifth-grade classes that took a field trip to Yampatika's Environmental Learning Center.
