Steamboat Ski Patrol member Charlie Reynolds had many stories about John Fetcher to tell a crowd Sunday during Fetcher's memorial at the Sheraton Steamboat Resort. Reynolds recalled the morning when Fetcher, patrolling in his 90s, spotted patrollers who were shadowing him from a distance to make sure things went smoothly for him. Fetcher didn't appreciate the gesture, Reynolds said, and successfully ditched the patrollers.
