Linda Wellman hit the 20,000-hour mark behind the wheel of a Steamboat Springs Transit bus shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday. No SST driver has ever logged as many hours as Wellman, who started driving city buses in 1999. The previous high mark was about 19,500 hours.

Olympic medalist and Steamboat Springs resident Nelson Carmichael is being inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame this weekend. Carmichael, who moved to Steamboat when he was 11 years old, will be one of four skiers inducted during a ceremony in Park City, Utah.

Sheep herder "Snetsky," right, played by Steve Lucas has an animated conversation with the the new village teacher "Leon" played by Aaron Ginesta during a dress rehearsal for a production of Neil Simon's "Fools." The high school will present the play at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and during a 2 p.m. performance Saturday. In the story is about a village that has been put under a curse rendering all its inhabitants completely stupid. A young schoolteacher (played by Ginesta) is sent to the town to break the curse by teaching a beautiful young girl. If he fails to educate her in one day, he will become a fool himself.
