Springs runoff along River Road has caused mud and chunks of pavement to slide down a steep embankment. Paul Draper with the Routt County Road and Bridge Department said crews will begin repair work once conditions allow.

The construction of a Burgess Creek diversion structure at this site is a top priority of the city's redevelopment authority at the base of Steamboat Ski Area - and a necessary precursor to flagship projects such as a promenade and summer daylighting of the creek. The Steamboat Springs City Council considered financing proposals for the projects Tuesday.

Saturday was Habitat Builds Colorado Day in Colorado. About 20 volunteers worked on the project in Hayden, including employees from Wells Fargo and members of the United Methodist Church in Steamboat Springs. The Carpenter's Ball, the annual benefit for Routt County Habitat for Humanity will be held May 9.
