A group of about 25 students used dry erase boards and notebooks to communicate with classmates Friday at Steamboat Springs High School during the national Day of Silence.

Hayden High School senior Zach Barnes sprays paint on the roof of a 1957 Chevrolet pickup Friday in the paint booth at the new Babson-Carpenter Career and Technical Education Center in Hayden. Zach and fellow seniors Braylin Wertenberger and Chase Salazar have spent the school year restoring the vehicle under the direction of teacher Kevin Kleckler. They hope to sell the vehicle when the restoration is complete. Proceeds would go back to the vocation programs at the school.
