Zip Adventures guide Jason Leach secures a safety line just before 13-year-old Sylvie Sapidin steps over a canyon wall on a journey that will carry her more than 100 feet above Alkali Creek near Wolcott. Zip Adventures is celebrating its first full year of operation.

A century ago, the carriage house at 4 Eagle Ranch would greet weary stagecoach travelers heading south from Steamboat Springs to the nearest Denver & Rio Grande Railroad stop, marking the final four-mile push to the Wolcott station.
