The site of the One Steamboat Place condominium project at the base of the ski area was alive with activity Wednesday. Workers are expected to pour the concrete slab for the swimming pool this week. The first truckload of structural steel is expected June 1.

Steamboat Springs' Hayley Richman swings to return a ball Friday at the regional tennis tournament in Grand Junction. Richman and her doubles partner, Mandy Thielemann, won the No. 2 doubles regional championship, one of six titles the Steamboat team collected en route to winning the team regional championship.

Brittany Long leads the field Friday early in the 3,200-meter run at a track meet in Grand Junction. Long went on to finish second in the race in 12 minutes, 27.12 seconds, recording her best time of the season.

Artist Bland Hoke will use steel Volant skis to wrap a yet to be determined tree in the Steamboat Springs area as part of an art project. Hoke is one of eight artists who are being supported by the Colorado Art Ranch.
