Steamboat Springs residents Holly and Kenny Day, right, remove some of the property they were able to salvage Friday from a building on Elk River Road. The couple had been leasing the building for storage. Snow caused the roof of the building to collapse in December, destroying personal items the Days had been storing, which included about $60,000 worth of new furniture, Holly Day said. Workers with Native Excavating were tearing down the building.

The Haven Community Center is on track to be complete in the fall. The center, which will include exercise and physical therapy space and an Internet cafe, will host wellness and education programs for older adults and other citizens. Hayden residents also will have the opportunity to rent the space for meetings and events.
