Lowell Whiteman Primary School student Eliza Leeson, 10, studies her winter survival guide this week during an overnight excursion near Pearl Lake State Park. The school's fifth- and sixth-graders learned how to build a fire, emergency shelters and first aid skills during the annual winter skills trip. Seventh- and eighth-graders spent a night at Steamboat Lake.
