Alan Goldsmith pedals toward Stagecoach Reservoir on Thursday after leaving Steamboat Springs. Goldsmith, riding with Dominik Scherer of Germany, traveled from the United Kingdom to Banff, Alberta, to participate in the Tour Divide mountain bike race. Participants follow a trail that mirrors the Continental Divide all the way to the Mexico-United States border in New Mexico. The Tour Divide is one of two races following the trail this summer, both of which will send competitors through Steamboat Springs.
