Steamboat Fire and Ambulance paramedic Brian Shively directs traffic while other emergency personnel prepare to load an injured cyclist into an ambulance. The cyclist was struck by a truck at 13th Street and Lincoln Avenue on Monday afternoon. His condition was unknown as of press time Monday, although he was conscious and breathing at the scene.

The owner of this 2005 Subaru Outback said she engaged the emergency brake after parking outside Pizza Hut late Monday afternoon. She went inside a nearby store to shop for eyeglass frames and when she returned, the car she purchased two months ago had its nose in Fish Creek. A tow truck driver attached a cable to secure the car before pulling it from the creek. The owner of the vehicle (standing on sidewalk, wearing a skirt) declined to give her name.
