Thursday's work temporarily cut off downtown access to Howelsen Hill, forcing drivers who wanted to access Howelsen to detour to Mount Werner Road and use River Road. The owner of this 2005 Subaru Outback said she engaged the emergency brake after parking outside Pizza Hut late Monday afternoon. She went inside a nearby store to shop for eyeglass frames and when she returned, the car she purchased two months ago had its nose in Fish Creek. A tow truck driver attached a cable to secure the car before pulling it from the creek. The owner of the vehicle (standing on sidewalk, wearing a skirt) declined to give her name.

The fundraiser features local artists who were asked to design and decorate fiberglass dogs, which will be displayed outside of local businesses. Transistor can be found in front of the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant when he's not inside the studios of NRC Broadcasting, which helped organize and promote the event.
