A black bear makes its way through a field next to a pond Saturday evening at a ranch at U.S. Highway 40 and Routt County Road 42. Mike Middleton, with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, said the bear had spent Saturday day bedding in the backyard of a home in Steamboat II. He also was seen eating birdseed in a resident's front yard.

Mike Quirk leans down to kiss his bride, Alissa, after being married while in a hot air balloon basket Sunday at the 28th annual Hot Air Balloon Rodeo in Steamboat Springs. The couple, who hail from Denver, read their vows over the public address system, shared a kiss and were launched into the air. Alissa tossed her bouquet over the side of the basket just before their balloon drifted over Bald Eagle Lake.
