Steamboat Springs Nordic combined coach Gary Crawford uses a Bombardier snowcat to remove snow from the landing area at the base of Howelsen Hill on Wednesday afternoon. Crawford and other members of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club's coaching staff scrape the snow off the hill to help with drainage and avoid slides on the steep jump hills. The ski area closed for the season March 30.
