A Jeep sits on a slope off Hilltop Parkway on Tuesday afternoon. Clinton Beck, 22, of Steamboat Springs, lost control of the vehicle rounding the curve shown at right, when he momentarily took his eyes off the road. The Jeep rolled over more than once. Beck was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected through the roof. Beck received only minor injuries and refused transport to Yampa Valley Medical Center.

The Mahogany Research Project operated by Shell Oil seeks to make oil shale a more viable source of fossil fuels in the near future. This plant near Meeker, shown July 6, 2007, is a pilot program for possible future development.
