The Steamboat Springs boys U-11 soccer team wrapped up a perfect season last weekend. The team includes back row, coach Michael de Jong, Andrew Firestone, Jordan Frye, Cole Henry, Nathan DePuy, Tonio Ranieri, Coach Ben Beall, Sam Rossman. Travis Pastrana and co-driver Christian Edstrom, seen here sliding through turns Sept. 22 at Rally Colorado race stages west of Steamboat Springs, wrapped up the Rally America National Championship with a win at the nine-race series' final event Saturday in Michigan. Pastrana did not defend his 2006 Rally Colorado title. His teammate Ken Block won the local race, former Steamboat Springs resident Tanner Foust took second and Pastrana took third.

Highlands Ranch resident Marlene Grooms nears the Thunderhead Peak finish of the scenic 12-mile course at the 2007 Mt. Werner Classic. The Mount Werner Classic returns as one of 14 races in the recently announced 2008 running schedule. The series, which was named the state's best series in Colorado Runner Magazine, is starting to receive statewide attention.
