Local author Sureva Towler sits on the steps of the Ewe Haul, the name she gave to an old sheepherders wagon that sits in her backyard. Towler received a 2007 Colorado Authors' League Award for her book, "The Boys at the Bar."

Sureva Towler misses the days when a cowgirl could ride her horse into the bar of the El Rancho in downtown Steamboat Springs and order a couple of beers - one for herself and the other for the horse.
