Steamboat track athlete Westin Cofer hurls the shot put during the regional meet held in Grand Junction on Saturday. Although Cofer failed to qualify in the shot put, he did qualify for a trip to the state track meet in Denver next weekend to compete in the discus throw.

Hutson's 400 finish highlights finals
Steamboat sprinter Tyler Hutson joked that a little bit of his skin probably was still left on the Stocker Stadium finish line after a rough tumble at Friday's 200-meter preliminary dash of the Class 4A Regional Track and Field Championships.
